Art has always been a part of my life. Picking up a pencil or paint brush came naturally from a young age.

Through the years my formal studies have included multiple courses in Fine Art and Graphic Art at Northern Virginia Community College, classes in water color and acrylic through Fairfax County VA Adult Education Program, and a wonderful Pastel-Acrylic-Oil Course at Dillman's in Wisconsin with Robert Hoffman.

My most recent adventure in art is painting pet portraits with pastels. When I work on an animal portrait, I begin with the eyes to capture their sparkle and character. The pastel medium is excellent because the vibrant colors accent the texture of various types of fur or even feathers.

My love for animals and passion for art has blended with the beauty of drawing and painting with pastels.
